Idea to Reality — Service Terms
Last updated: November 6, 2026
- These terms apply to Idea to Reality orders (product design and engineering). They are separate from the terms for our website redesign service.
- Individuals and businesses can order.
- You can start with a free 3D concept: up to 3 rounds, with no payment and no obligation to order (section 4). The service is launching soon: the price of the Full Design Package will be given in an individual quote when the service starts, and you have no obligation before you pay.
- We do not draft patent claims, give patentability opinions or file patent applications.
- If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you have a 14-day right to withdraw (section 9).
1. Who we are
Idea to Reality is a product design service of RenewPage, operated by Smail (스매일), a sole proprietorship registered in the Republic of Korea (owner: Kim Sangho, business registration no. 673-30-01804), located at 107/202, 161 Gopung-ro, Ilsandong-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do 10302, Republic of Korea. Contact: hello@renewpage.com. In these terms, "we" means Smail operating RenewPage, and "you" means the person or business that places an order.
2. Who can order
Both individuals and businesses can order. If you order for a business, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms for it. A "consumer" means an individual ordering for purposes outside their trade, business, craft or profession. Some sections apply differently to consumers, and those sections say so.
3. What we do
If you order the Full Design Package, we turn your product idea into engineering design work: 3D models and CAD source files, manufacturing drawings, circuit diagrams and PCB layouts, parts lists and datasheets, and math-based virtual testing (simulation). Before you order, we offer a free 3D concept (section 4). The exact deliverables for your project are listed in the quote we send you.
We do not:
- draft patent claims, give opinions on patentability or freedom to operate, file patent applications, or act for you before any patent office;
- carry out certification testing or sign-off (such as CE, FCC, UL or KC) or approve injection molds;
- design medical, aviation or automotive safety parts, or weapons;
- write finished firmware, or find you a manufacturer or licensee.
If you need a patent attorney, we can introduce independent licensed firms. You contract with them directly and we receive no fees.
4. Free 3D concept, quotes, orders and payment
Free 3D concept. You send us a short description of your idea. We make a 3D concept model and send it to you as rendered images and, where possible, an interactive 3D preview. We make up to 3 rounds in total, including changes based on your feedback. The free 3D concept costs nothing and does not oblige you to order. CAD source files (such as STEP files) are not part of the free 3D concept; they are delivered with the Full Design Package. If you do not order after the free rounds, the free 3D concept ends there and neither of us owes the other anything.
- If you want to go ahead, we send you a quote in US dollars that states the deliverables, schedule and price. Prices will be announced when the service starts; until then, prices are given only in individual quotes.
- To order, you accept the quote by email. The contract is concluded when we confirm your order by email.
- We then send a PayPal invoice in US dollars with your order number. You can pay with a PayPal balance or a card through PayPal's checkout.
The price is the one stated in your quote. Nothing is charged for the free 3D concept, and you have no obligation to pay anything before you accept a quote and we confirm your order. Currency conversion or bank fees charged by your own bank or card provider are your responsibility.
5. Schedule and delivery
Your quote states the schedule for your project. It starts when we have your payment and the information we need, and it can change if the scope changes or while we wait for your answers. We will tell you promptly about any delay.
We deliver the deliverables by email, as attachments or download links. If any deliverable contains an error caused by us and you tell us within 14 days after delivery, we correct it free of charge.
6. Confidentiality
We keep your invention descriptions, sketches, files and project details confidential, including during the free 3D concept and whether or not you order. We use them only to deliver the service to you. We share them only with providers we need for that purpose (such as email, cloud storage and AI software providers), under their business terms.
We will not show your project, images or results in our portfolio or marketing without your written consent. We can sign a separate non-disclosure agreement (NDA) before you send details; if we do, the NDA also applies.
Making an invention public before a patent application is filed can affect whether it can be patented in many countries. We do not publish your materials, but please ask your patent attorney about timing.
7. Ownership
Your idea and the materials you send us remain yours. Until you pay for the Full Design Package, the rights in the 3D models, renders and previews we make for the free 3D concept stay with us; you may use them only to decide whether to order. This does not give us any right to your idea. After you pay in full, we transfer to you all rights we hold in the deliverables made for your project, and you may use, change and build on them without limit. Parts we do not own, such as manufacturers' datasheets, third-party libraries, fonts or AI-generated elements, are provided under their own terms. We keep our general know-how and tools that are not specific to your project.
8. Estimates, testing and responsibility
Designs, drawings and simulations are engineering estimates based on the information and assumptions available to us. They are not certification and not a guarantee of safety, performance or manufacturability. Before you make, sell or use a product, you are responsible for physical prototypes and testing, certification, compliance with the rules that apply to the product, and product liability.
Projects with high-pressure fluids, mains-powered internals, large battery packs, structural or heat-critical parts, or 4+ layer / RF circuit boards need a review by a qualified engineer before production.
9. Right of withdrawal for consumers in the EU and the UK
If you are a consumer living in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period ends 14 days after the day the contract is concluded. This follows the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU (Article 9) and the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
Starting work during the withdrawal period. We do not start work within the withdrawal period unless you ask us to. We will ask for your express request in writing (email) before starting work within the withdrawal period. If you ask us to start and then withdraw, you pay an amount in proportion to the work done until you told us you were withdrawing, compared with the full service (Directive Article 14(3)). If we have fully performed the service at your express request, and you acknowledged that you would then lose your right to withdraw, the right to withdraw no longer applies (Directive Article 16(a)).
How to withdraw. Send us a clear statement by email to hello@renewpage.com before the withdrawal period ends. You may use the model form below, but you do not have to. We will refund the payments we received from you, minus any proportionate amount for work already done, within 14 days after we receive your notice, using the same payment method (PayPal) unless you agree otherwise.
